Nigerian megastar Wizkid has won the inaugural Afrobeats category at the 2022 American Music Awards. Wizkid was one of the first-ever nominees for the Favorite Afrobeats Artist at the 2022 American Music Award. He was nominated alongside Burna Boy, CKay, Tems, and Fireboy DML, all of whom enjoyed considerable success in the United States in the year in review.
Wizkid also won the Favorite R&B Award with his song “Essence” featuring Tems and Justin Bieber, fending off competition from other heavyweights. Tems also won two awards: Favorite R&B for “Essence” and Favorite Hip Hop for her contribution to Future’s “Wait For U.”

2. Kanye West to run for President again
Shortly after returning to Twitter, Kanye West announced he was running for president in 2024. In a video from X17Online, a cameraperson asked if he is running for president. Kanye responds, “Yes…It’s simple… It’s just we’re moving toward the future.” Kanye West net worth of $500 million
Milo Yiannopoulos, a far-right commentator, was in the video. Kanye said Yiannopoulos was “working on the campaign.” This would be West’s second run for president.

Artiste Oupa John Sefoka, popularly known as DJ Sumbody, has died. The family confirmed the news in a statement, saying details surrounding his death could not be released as investigations were underway. “Oupa John Sefoka allegedly ran into an unfortunate incident that led to his passing in the early hours of Sunday morning, November 20 … investigations are still ongoing. The Sefoka family and Sumsounds Music Management have kindly requested privacy during this difficult time,” the statement read.
Unconfirmed reports on social media said the DJ was shot dead while on his way to a gig. DJ Sumbody’s death has left SA in shock. Celebrities and fans have taken to social media to share tributes to the late star.

Snoop Dogg is diversifying his portfolio again. The 51-year-old rapper is now getting into the pet accessory business. On November 17, Snoop announced his latest venture Snoop Doggie Doggs. The pet accessory line was created in “partnership with SMAC Entertainment and Little Earth Productions, Inc.– a leading manufacturer of licensed fashion accessories and apparel.”
The new accessory line for furry friends will offer luxe goods for canines and felines in hopes of inspiring pet owners to treat their four-legged treasures like royalty on a daily basis. Clothing sizes will range from size XS-XL as well as the ‘big dog’ size, with the entire lineup retailing from $14.99 to $99.99.
5. Cristiano Ronaldo becomes the first to gain 500 million Instagram followers

Manchester United and Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo has broken another record by reaching 500 million Instagram followers, becoming the first to achieve this milestone. He is currently the social media user with the highest number of followers, as a result. This can be seen as the direct outcome of the famous football player’s recent trend-following. Ronaldo trended throughout last week after he appeared in a surprise interview with Piers Morgan, where he called out Manchester United’s owners, manager Erik ten Hag, and club legend Wayne Rooney.
Furthermore, he has been trending recently after a photo of him with Lionel Messi appeared online. The picture, which was for a Louis Vuitton campaign, immediately became one of the most-liked images on any social media network, with over 36 million total likes. Many people had their hearts crushed by the image when behind-the-scenes footage proved that it was manipulated and the two footballers were never actually in the same place. The footballers were proven to have taken the images independently in the now-deleted video that Louis Vuitton shared.
