Last Week, The Best Beauty Looks Promoted Individuality With Much Gusto

n a world of flashing lights and attention, perfection seems to be the goal. But it’s always refreshing to see when women abandon that route in favor of embracing the totality of who they are — flaws and all. It’s becoming clear that a new breed of women who’ve embraced their unique beauty over prescribed standards is rising on the scene, and Black women are leading the charge. Last week, the stars showed up yet again—promoting individuality with much gusto.

The Looks

There’s a sparkle that color introduces to a look, especially when done right. Trust Keke Palmer and her glam team to do it correctly. The star showed up for the premiere of Disney’s Light Year in a super individualistic look that flaunted a pop of color on her eyelids. And what’s a  better color choice than neon green? The tone brightened up an otherwise subtle look and the impact was felt. Meanwhile, Ariana DeBose played the subtle card to the T during press for the Tony awards. Natural-looking brows, toned-down shadow, rosy cheeks, and matching lips all came together for a seriously effortless look. 

Hair

We think Barbie should abdicate the pink throne for none other than Cardi B. The megastar caused a pink tsunami in a fuscia pink haircut she debuted last week. Think Barbie with a hip-hop flair and you wouldn’t be wrong!
