Last Week, The Best Beauty Looks Were A Fearless Parade Of Feminine Charm

hew, what a week it was! Our glam calendar was packed with it all—birthday parties, beauty pageants, sports shows, red carpet appearances—and the glam-ometer was off the charts. Gracing the scenes with hairstyles and makeup that were impossible to resist, Black Queens easily stole attention with a mix of edgy, dramatic, and girly-girl offerings.

Yesterday, August 14, American actress Marsai Martin celebrated 18 years around the sun with a party reminiscent of fairytale fantasy. The Black-ish star opted for a custom emerald green number by Da Shoné By DaSh that paired nicely with her subtle face beat. Her look commanded a luxe appeal and featured full brows, a proud winged liner, and earth-toned lipstick. The makeup was free of color; choosing to rather advocate for her brown skin. Of course, we wouldn’t forget her wavy ginger hair that nailed everything together. After all, you only clock 18 once. 

Embodying an old Hollywood glamour vibe, Kelly Rowland showed up for Marsai Martin’s birthday party as Hollywood and as glamorous as ever. Her messy top bun with loose hair gracing the sides of her face, well-arched brows, and bold red matte lips ensured Rowland fulfilled the assignment. And yes, she did remind us of the beauty of Black skin in the process.

Last week, we spotted Normani decked head-to-toe in Versace — outfit, shoes, bag, and jewelry. While the ensemble was amazing, we couldn’t take our eyes off her top bun with loose sides that flattered her forehead, chin, and jawline. Elsewhere, Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi made a case for edgy burst fade haircut as she attended the grand finale of Miss South Africa 2022.
