Last Week, The Best Beauty Looks Were A Symphony Of Grace

ife is filled with stages. In the beginning, we may find ourselves trying too hard to make a point; to be someone. But as we gradually advance, a certain aura of confidence seeps in and we unapologetically unravel to become who we truly are. Last week, we were once again reminded of this as Black celebs went about their daily activities sporting individualistic beauty looks that did well to reiterate the fact that they really have come into their own. No gimmicks. No games. Just proud Black sistas comfortable in their own skin with nothing left to prove. Why not allow their creative makeup looks to inspire your next slay?

The Looks

Makeup

With a fast-rising music career, vocal sensation Chloe Bailey is putting her best foot forward in every ramification. From career to business, fashion to beauty, the 24-year-old is becoming a name synonymous with excellence. Last week, we spotted the star making a case for an effortless nude beat which she pulled off correctly. Although subtle, with a mere tinge of pink on her lids, the look featured well-thought-out elements that came together nicely. For instance, her choice of eyeshadow not only flattered her skin tone but also did justice to her lip stain. The result is a face card that’s impossible to decline.

If there’s a chart consisting of stars with a flair for the unconventional, we will agree that Doja Cat would claim a spot in the top rankings. Her quirkiness, daring spirit, and vibrant personality make her a consistent feature in most creative makeup looks round up. But just when we thought we had seen her most daring offering, she blew us away with an unconventional and controversial take. Last week, the rapper debuted a fresh bald look and zero brows following her Instagram Live shaving stint. While we take no sides as to whether or not her brows needed to go, we do appreciate the wittiness behind the updated brows of a single line punctuated by cute hearts.

Hair

Elsewhere, Tiffany Haddish proved that even the most adventurous hair colors suit her just fine as she caused a stir in a platinum pixie chop. The comedian made her way to the Easter Sunday movie premiere in a simple Jonathan Simkhai dress that complemented her skin tone and accessories of a corresponding hue. Such a toned-down look needed an attention-grabbing pop and the star’s hairdo served the purpose well.
