In a year that has been more torrid than fulfilling for many of us, music is one of the few things that have kept us a bit balanced. And with this in mind, DMW First Lady Liya wants us to count our blessings and dance away our sorrows on her debut single, Melo.
Empawa music’s golden boy, Joeboy also has a few words of encouragement for us on his new song, Celebration, where he sings about being thankful for overcoming the tumultuous year that is 2020. Produced by Zaki Magic, Melo, which means ‘how many’ in Yoruba introduces people to Liya’s sound. The enchanting song which was accompanied by a video has a fresh sweetness which makes listeners literally want to dance.
#2. Joeboy – Celebration
Joeboy ends 2020 in style with a new single titled Celebration. The rising star who is part of Mr Eazi’s Empawa music talents taps into the joyous side of his nature. Celebration is a song about escaping the traumas of the past and being thankful. It lands at a perfect time when people reflect over the year.
#3. Benzema ft Savara (Sauti Sol) – Bypass
Celebrated Kenyan artist Benzema Alias Alejandro has released a new song titled Bypass featuring Savara from Sauti Sol. Bypass is about the duo going on a road trip and choosing to use the Bypass to avoid being caught in Jam. Savara, who has always blessed us with his melodic voice in Sauti Sol, shows off a different artistic side as he opens the jam, rapping as he drives.
#4. Tekno – Designer
Tekno has released a new song titled Designer. The Zacky produced track is off his debut studio album, Old romance. Designer is a mid-tempo Afro-RnB song that satisfies our cravings for old romance and love songs. On this new entry, Tekno sings about his girl with boogie taste for luxury.
#5. Reminisce ft Adekunle Gold – Toxic
One of Nigerian finest rapper, Reminisce wraps up 2020 with a new song titled Toxic. This new song which is a quick move-on from his earlier released EP, Vibes and Inshaallah, features AG Baby, Adekunle Gold who added a sultry verse. The song is a perfect blend of Hip-Hop and Afropop with heavy bass produced by Sess.
