Zendaya Announced As Louis Vuitton House Ambassador

Zendaya is an official ambassador for Louis Vuitton. The “Euphoria” actress, 26, makes her Louis Vuitton debut in a lavish advertisement for the luxury brand’s Capucines bag, after months of persistent rumors that she would be joining the LV family.

Zendaya is the newest face of the Capucines handbag, which was inspired by the rue Neuve-des-Capucines, where Louis Vuitton’s first store was established in 1854. The actress was styled by her longtime friend and stylist Law Roach for the shoot. Photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott captured her in these black-and-white outfits posing with the purse in its many colors on top of Eileen Gray’s Roquebrune-Cap-Martin residence E-1027, which is surrounded by the French Riviera’s balmy beach.

The Golden Globe-winning actress flaunts the elaborate Louis Vuitton womenswear designs of Nicolas Ghesquière while carrying different iterations of the iconic Capucines bag and its fashionable micro-sized sibling, the Capucines BB, which is also making its campaign debut alongside the star. “I remember growing up around LV campaigns,” Zendaya shared on the launch day. “There was this one that I loved from the early 2000s of Naomi Campbell, and she’s like sprawled out over a trunk. I can still see it. I can see the image in my head and I remember seeing it in magazines as a kid.”

“It’s really beautifully made and durable,” Zendaya, who has cemented herself as a fashion star on virtually every red carpet, said about the Capucines bag. “If I buy something I want it to really last me. I’m not always the most responsible bag owner, so I might be throwing it around, it might get some real wear in it, you know, because I want to really use it, and it feels so sturdy.”

Early this year, Zendaya started spreading rumors that she will be working for Louis Vuitton. When she stole the show at Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2023 fashion show and posed with LV’s new menswear director, Pharrell Williams, the rumors took off like wildfire. Even while rumors about the actress’ employment have been rife over the previous few months, neither Zendaya nor Louis Vuitton addressed them until the Capucines campaign launched on April 20.

We expect Zendaya to wear Louis Vuitton if she makes one of her customarily grandiose appearances at the 2023 Met Gala.
