This week, Mama Africa Yemi Alade makes a return with the lead single Ogogoro in her upcoming EP. Yemi isn’t the only lady setting the music scene ablaze this week. Ghana’s Gyakie also blessed fans with a romantic tune titled Need Me. We’ve curated some Rave-worthy new releases by African women artists for you to flex on this weekend.

#1. Yemi Alade – Ogogoro
Nigerian music queen and Afro-pop singer, Yemi Alade comes through with an amazing song titled, Ogogoro. The Egar Boi-produced song is a groovy record with Yemi Alade’s energy that will keep you on the dancefloor. Ogogoro will be part of Yemi’s upcoming EP project expected soon.
#2. Niniola – Too sweet (O dun)

Nigerian vocalist, Niniola shares her take on amapiano with a new song she titles Too Sweet (O’Dun). This song registers as Niniola’s third output for the year so far and a follow-up to her successfully released love-inspired 6th Heaven EP. Nigerian artists have been jumping on the amapiano wave recently. It’s no surprise that Niniola has put her spin on it.
#3. Gyakie – Need me
Multifaceted Ghanaian music export, Gyakie, returns after a brief hiatus from the music scene with this melodious record titled Need Me, for the entertainment of her ever-growing fan base. The Forever crooner uses her unique sound to steal the show again in this impressive record that mirrors love and affection.
#4. Ayra Starr – Cast (Gen Z anthem)
After much anticipation, fast-rising Nigerian songbird, Ayra Starr has finally dropped her studio album, 19 & Dangerous. The album happens to be her debut studio album. Off this new body of work is the relatable and beautifully crafted song Cast (Gen Z Anthem), which is a tune you should jam to this weekend. As the name suggests, Cast (Gen Z Anthem) is a tune that appeals most especially to the Gen Z age group.
#5. Deto Black – Brag
In the year since she first announced her pivot to music with one of the year’s hottest verses on Odunsi’s body count, Deto Black remained the cultural icon she’s always been amongst Lagos’ alte youth cohort. Deto makes her mark on the music scene with another slick-toned music titled Brag. On brag, she raps about her social status and how she’s bad all by herself.
