1. Wizkid celebrates 10 years of Superstar album with documentary
Nigerian music superstar Wizkid on Saturday, June 12, 2021, celebrated the 10th anniversary of his debut album Superstar. Released in June 2011, Superstar attained star status as a commercially successful and critically acclaimed body of work.
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Wizkid released a docuseries titled “A Superstar Made in Lagos” on his YouTube page. He features in the interview series alongside industry giants like his mentor Banky W, comedy legend Ali Baba, Afrobeat veteran Femi Kuti and his mentee Terri. Speaking in the series, Wizkid reflects on his childhood, recalling his early days in Surulere.
2. Drake hints Certified Lover Boy album will be out by end of summer

Drake has had fans waiting for a new album for over three years now, but it looks like that drought could be coming to an end sooner than imagined. During a short interview at the Ultimate Rap League’s Night of Main Events XI (NOME XI) event yesterday (June 12), the star confirmed that his “Certified Lover Boy” album, which would be his first LP since 2018’s “Scorpion,” would be out by the end of the summer.
Drake’s latest reveal is just the latest in what’s been a series of tidbits that have been reported about his album over the last couple of years.
3. South Africa: AKA teases new song ‘Tears Run Dry’ supposedly about Anele Tembe

Rapper AKA has teased his fans with the draft of a song that is supposedly about his late fiancée, Anele ‘Nellie’ Tembe. The star, who returned to social media last week, has been sharing snippets of what he’s been getting up to, from playing Monopoly with family and friends to spending time in the studio.
This past weekend, the “Casino” hitmaker posted videos on his Instagram stories showing himself in the studio working on a song titled “Tears Run Dry.” Still in a draft phase, the lyrics, sung and rapped by AKA, speak about nothing being able to replace a woman.
4. World Bank supports Ghana with $200m for COVID-19 vaccines

World Bank has approved a $200 million Ghana COVID-19 Emergency Preparedness and Response Project Second Additional Financing to procure and deploy COVID-19 vaccines for about 13 million people.
The project, in collaboration with the COVAX Facility COVID-19 vaccine acquisition, will provide financing to support the government in strengthening the resilience of Ghana’s health systems to better prepare for any future pandemic and to secure the continuation of essential health and nutrition services, including routine childhood immunization.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Bank Group has committed over $125 billion to fight the health, economic, and social impacts of the pandemic, the fastest and largest crisis response in its history.
5. Christian Eriksen: Denmark midfielder suffered cardiac arrest, says team doctor
“Christian Eriksen suffered a cardiac arrest when he collapsed in Denmark’s Euro 2020 match against Finland‘ revealed Danish team doctor Morten Boesen. Earlier, officials said the midfielder was in the hospital and stable. They also revealed that he had sent his greetings to his national teammates. Eriksen collapsed shortly before half-time in Denmark’s opening Euro 2020 game against Finland on Saturday.
“He was gone. We did cardiac resuscitation, it was a cardiac arrest,” said Boesen. “How close were we to losing him? I don’t know, but we got him back after one defib [defibrillation], so that’s quite fast. The examinations that have been done so far look fine. We don’t have an explanation as to why it happened.”
The 29-year-old Inter Milan player had an emergency medical treatment on the pitch before being rushed to the hospital.
