he Venice Film Festival met us smack in the middle of the week, and soon it was clear that the festival was going to serve as the latest wave of fresh beauty inspirations until its closing ceremony. This is thanks in part to the Black stars who came in full sway to own the red carpet and all. From makeup to hairstyles, full glam to muted beats, there were more than enough face cards to inspire, even if unusual is your M.O.

Meanwhile, several movie premieres studded the week adding more to our Pinterest beauty board. For instance, during the premiere of Lord of the Rings on Prime, actress Cynthia Addai Robinson was divine in a subtle take. Beaming in a yellow Valentino number, the star’s gold eyeshadow elevated by winged eyeliner and glossy lips was as creative as it was impactful.
The Looks

So far, Tessa Thompson has been one of the most prominent fashion slayers at the ongoing 79th Venice Film Festival. But her force has also been felt on the beauty side of things. During her head-to-toe red look on the Venice red carpet, her face card also represented the theme quite proudly. A red Armani Beauty lipstick was used to enliven an otherwise subtle look and her ginger hair was the right finish to a heavy-hitting moment.
Smokey eyes, red lips, and well-arched brows came together to an outstanding effect on Madisin Rian on the Venice red carpet. The actress’ rich melanin skin was the perfect base for such a fiery look, and we’re certain that everyone felt the heat as she walked by. But then, with strong facial features like hers, it’s impossible to go wrong.
Hair
Over in South Africa, Nomzamo Mbatha showed up for the #EmpoweringHER Women In Business Awards with a crowning touch. Her two-sides-down updo, which flattered her chin and neck, added a regal flair to her overall look.
