Last Week, The Best Beauty Looks Were A Mesmerizing Blend Of Edge And Culture

For fashion’s elite, couture week can be seen as a collision of Van Gogh and Beethoven, but as it relates to the wardrobe. Last week, centuries-old Maisons and contemporary designers unleashed their craft on the world to much fanfare. To witness it all were some of the entertainment industry’s biggest names. As the stars paraded the streets of Paris from one haute couture show to the other, they did so in unmissable fashion picks paired nicely with unforgettable beauty takes.

While Paris held the attention of most of the world, the beauty offerings weren’t limited to the City of Love. For instance, the Sundance Film Festival stirred up Utah, birthday parties serenaded Lagos, and a slew of other Black stars simply slayed for the gram. In other words, regardless of where we looked, there was a Black celeb serving major in the beauty department that we couldn’t help but appreciate.

At the Fendi couture show last week, A-list actress Kerry Washington opted for a bronze-toned face beat to complement her green monochrome outfit. The look came off as soft and airy thanks to her nude lipstick, soft brows and lashes, and even softer blush. The result was no doubt a darling look that posed Washington as an ageless goddess. 

Adding to the unforgettable beauty takes we saw last week was Coco Jones who caused a stir with her well-defined eyes. The look, created by celebrity makeup artist Diana Shin, was otherwise subtle save for her eyes shimmering in lavender. Shin craftily incorporated witchy lashes and black liner to further emphasize the eyes. 

Hair

It appears that Jordyn Woods decided to celebrate the month of love even before February comes along. Last week, the socialite enjoyed a date night with her man making a case for red. Between her hot red mane and her off-the-shoulder sexy red number, we couldn’t help but fall in love.
