Tiwa Savage, Ayra Starr And Young Jonn Deliver Something Fresh On ‘Stamina’ + More Trending New Afrobeats Songs

Afrobeats artistes have consistently been in their creative bag since 2023 started and this week is no different. As the first quarter of 2023 is hitting a full stop, our favorite artistes are making sure we have enough hits to make it a memorable quarter. Leading the pack this week is the queen of afro-pop, Tiwa Savage who teamed up with Ayra Starr and Young Jonn, two of Nigeria’s hottest acts at the moment, to give us Stamina, a song people have described as a certified hit.
Elsewhere, right on the heels of signing to American record label Def Jam Records, Adekunle Gold teams up with street-hop singer, Zinoleesky on a joint titled Party No Dey Stop. We were fed this week with enough afro jams to last us for the next music trend cycle. We’ve curated this list of the best and trendiest five songs to get the party started this weekend.

#1. Tiwa Savage ft. Ayra Starr and Young Jonn – Stamina
Hot off the back of her commendable contribution to the remix of Spyro’s hit single Who is Your Guy, Tiwa Savage takes another leap towards a banging 2023 as she steps out with something fresh for the fans. This time, Savage collaborates with Mavin Records’ singer, Ayra Starr alongside Chocolate City record-producer-cum-singer-songwriter, Young Jonn on an impressive piece titled Stamina. With the three artistes taking a roll this year with smashing releases, it is a no-brainer to expect nothing less than a hit on Stamina. Production credit goes to the serial hitmaker, Magic Sticks.
#2. Chike ft. Oxlade – Spell (Remix)
Chike continues to impress as he delivers the remix of the harmonious number Spell. Joining the remix is one of the princes of vocal dexterity, Oxlade, who blesses the song with the verse it has somehow missed. Produced by Chike’s regular collaborator Deeyasso, Spell is the third track housed under The Brother’s Keeper album. Besides Oxlade joining the track, the song is also complemented with a befitting music video directed by Pink.
#3. Crayon ft. Yaba Buluku – The One (Chop Life)
The Mavin Records camp is on fire at the moment and they can’t keep calm. After receiving bangers from Rema, Ayra Starr, and Boy Spyce, the mantle has been passed to Crayon and he is set to deliver. In a bid to continue the label’s spectacular run, the singer-songwriter releases his first official single of the year titled The One (Chop Life) and it features Mozambiquan trio, Yaba Buluku Boyz. In the video (which is yet to be released but was teased), Crayon pays tribute to the veteran, Davido, recreating the opening scene of from iconic music video of the Shizzi-produced Dami Duro which was released as far back as 2011. The One (Chop Life) was produced by DJ Tarico.
#4. Adekunle Gold ft. Zinoleesky – Party No De Stop
It’s 2023 and Adekunle Gold continues to impress. Three months into 2023, the star renders his first installment for the year. The singer-songwriter collaborates with Marlian Music wunderkind, Zinoleesky to roll out the catchy tune entitled Party No Dey Stop. Produced by highly rated beatmaker Kel P, Party No Dey Stop is themed on less stress and more fun. With lyrics such as “me wey I don high on paraga, why I go get time for wahala,” AG and Zinoleesky are pro-party and anti-wahala on the new joint.
#5. Khaid ft. Boy Spyce – Carry Me Go
The new generation of Nigerian artistes are impressively playing their part in keeping alive the spirit of Afrobeats; Khaid and Boy Spyce are attestations. They started 2023 in a good fashion with Khaid enlisting BMH for the popular record Jolie, and Boy Spyce progressing further to attain his A-list goal with the critically acclaimed Folake. Hot off the back of their individual releases, both acts combine forces for a new single dubbed Carry Me Go.
