Last Week, The Best Dressed Ladies Individually Served Style

hat’s a show if it’s filled with ill-dressed ladies holding up a glass of champagne albeit in an uppity manner? The highlights of every great show is the style theme and the responsive guests. Last week, stylish Black women across the globe said “Yes, I’ve got this” and indeed held up to this proclamation. It seemed they all inhaled a fashun gas and went all out to represent their personal style. There was a knack for creativity and basic couldn’t help but sit this one out.

Ensembles with elaborate details were certainly represented as the stars brought their extra game and strapped it on tightly. Think elaborate sleeves, fancy ruffle detailing, suit sets with flowy trains and see-through sheer pants. While all these occurred on the fashion scenes, a few Black women kept it simply chic with deep neck slip dresses and structured blazer numbers, and this outlook couldn’t be mistaken for regular.

The looks

What’s love got to do with it? Everything: Black love, power couple magic, stylish endearments. Beyonce and Jay-Z were the perfect wedding guests in Venice last week and best believe the style department wasn’t lagging. Queen B was spotted in a Saïnt Mojavï Parla double drape dress from the brand’s Spring/Summer ’21 collection and matching Paciotti strappy heels teamed with the perfect Marzook crystal orb clutch. Beyonce’s known to shine and this ensemble wouldn’t be complete if we didn’t mention the jewelry she played up the look with. A 60-carat diamond necklace with white jade, accompanied by diamond earrings all by celeb jeweler, Lorraine Schwartz. Icy yet sizzling hot, that’s how royalties do.

Hollywood sweetheart Zendaya channeled her inner sci-fi Princess Leia in a Rick Owens off-white all-over sequins dress from the Fall 2021 ready-to-wear collection. The interesting number featured one sleeve and a sculptural top that stopped right under her chin. Bulgari’s Serpenti Viper double-coil bracelet wrapped nicely around her wrists as she stunned in contrasting purple eye makeup. A Princess in 2021 takes all the style risks and isn’t afraid to make bold statements. Applaudisé.

Over in Nigeria, actress Rita Dominic put up a colorful front in a multicolored ruched dress. The gorgeous number boasts bell sleeves and a thigh-high slit made possible by the ruched detail. The multiple award-winning star paired the colorful delight with black and gold evening sandals which elevated the entire ensemble. If delightful was an outfit, it’ll surely be this.

The styles shared by Black celebs and top fashion influencers last week were nothing short of chic, edgy, and glamorous and it’s safe to say that we are, as usual, living vicariously through them. Black style queens.
