1. The Rock topped Forbes’ list of the highest-paid actors in the world The Rock Forbes
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has nabbed the Forbes title of the world’s highest-paid actor for the second year in a row.
Between June 2019 and June 2020, The Rock racked up $87.5 million, making $23.5 million alone from his starring role in the upcoming Netflix film “Red Notice,” according to Forbes. In addition, Johnson has found monetary success with his Under Armour clothing line, Project Rock.
However, this is a slight decrease from 2019, during which Johnson brought home $89.4 million from starring in “Jumanji: The Next Level,” among other projects. Johnson first topped the list in 2016, with earnings totaling $64.5 million.
Others on the list include Ryan Reynolds, Mark Wahlberg, Ben Affleck, Vin Diesel, and more.
2. Akosua Agyapong acquitted and discharged over a land case in Ghana

Highlife musician, Akosua Agyapong and Frank Agyemang Badu who were standing trial for the alleged fraudulent sale of land were on Wednesday acquitted and discharged by an Accra Circuit Court.
At the hearing on Wednesday, August 12, 2020, the court presided over by Ms. Priscilla Dappah Mireku held that the prosecution failed to establish a prima facie case against the accused persons – Akosua Agyapong and Frank Agyemang.
It also held that the matter before the court was more of a civil case rather than a criminal case urging that the complainant could file a civil case again if he so wishes to.
3. South Africa: Possibility of a serial killer in KZN remains as fifth woman’s body found
The chance of a roaming serial killer in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) has just increased after a fifth woman’s body was found in Mthwalume on Wednesday, August 12. The fourth woman’s body was tragically found in the same area, just 24 hours earlier on Tuesday, August 11.
The provincial K9 units and other agencies like search and rescue were summoned to Mthwalume just to do a sweep out of the area to see if there were any other bodies that could be found. At around 12:30 on Wednesday afternoon, the body was found down near bushes in the Mthwalume area. The Rock Forbes
This particular case and the other four cases that were opened in the same area will be investigated by a task team, formed by the districts in Port Shepstone.
4. Ilhan Omar wins primary against a well-funded challenger in Minnesota
Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota on Tuesday overcame a primary challenge from a well-funded opponent who tried to make an issue of her national celebrity. Omar, seeking her second term in November, defeated Antone Melton-Meaux, an attorney and mediator who raised millions in anti-Omar money.
Omar in 2018 became one of the first two Muslim women elected to Congress, building on a national profile that started when the onetime refugee from Somalia was elected to the Minnesota Legislature just two years earlier. Her aggressive advocacy on liberal issues, and her eagerness to take on President Trump, made her even more prominent. The Rock Forbes
5. Barcelona player tests positive for COVID-19

Barcelona says an unnamed squad member has tested positive for COVID-19. He was one of nine reporting for pre-season training, showed no symptoms and has been quarantined at his home. Also on Wednesday fellow La Liga side Athletic Bilbao said six players had tested positive as they returned for pre-season training.
Barca says their player has not been in contact with any senior players and will travel to Lisbon on Thursday to prepare for their Champions League quarter-final.
