The Best Dressed Stars Kept Fashion Alive Last Week

L

ights, camera, fashion! Last week, the fashion scene was bursting with looks from red carpet to runway shows and if this isn’t an elaborate way to shut down a season there truly isn’t any other way. New York Fashion Week delivered beyond and above with Black stars sharpening their creative sides in partnership with talented designers to create magic.

If you’ve never been bitten by the ‘fashun bug‘ or spellbound by the enchantment of the season, it’s most likely you won’t escape last week’s style fever. Black stars across borders had one thing in common as they attended celebrity birthday parties, MTV VMA, NYFW amongst other events—a knack for pulchritudinous ensembles without leaving out individuality.

The Looks

New York Fashion Week was the port of call for every style girl last week and the contest for the best dressed was ungiving because the best foot wasn’t just put forward, but the entire bodies were on full display. Star girl Ciara Wilson easily stood out in an all-green ensemble as she attended designer, Peter Dundas show in conjunction with Revolve. The superstar showed no signs of slowing down in a corset top, mini pleated skirt, and a matching short furry coat. The shearling trim-lined over-the-knee boots was definitely the right topping for this delicious appearance.

Last week also saw ace Nigerian media mogul, Mo Abudu celebrate her birthday and it was indeed an event to reckon with. Celebrities flooded our timelines as they nailed the “touch of orient” themed party. Toke Makinwa delivered on the assignment in an elaborate floral cape ensemble by Nigerian designer, Lanre Da Silva Ajayi. This look further emphasized that this fashion girl sure knows her style onions. The appearance was remarkably magnificent and undoubtedly so.

The styles shared by Black celebs and top fashion influencers last week were nothing short of chic, edgy, and glamorous and it’s safe to say that we are, as usual, living vicariously through them. Black style queens.

Check out last week’s best fashion moments from our favorite Black stars across borders…
