2. Nigerian who tested positive for coronavirus now negative

The Federal Government, on Friday, said the second confirmed case of coronavirus in the country no longer had the virus in his system and would be discharged from the treatment centre in Lagos. The Minister of Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, said this while giving an update on the virus in Abuja.
He said the person, who had contact with the index case, had no symptoms of the COVID-19, adding that he had not been sick while in isolation. He also said the index case, an Italian who is receiving treatment in Lagos, would also be discharged next week.
He said, “Between January 7 and March 12, 2020, a total of 42 people who met our case definition have been screened for COVID-19 in Edo, Lagos, Ogun, Yobe, Rivers and Kano states, and the Federal Capital Territory. 40 tested negative and two were confirmed positive. These two are the index case and contact with the index case. No death has been recorded.”
3. Coronavirus: Sudan confirms the first case
Sudan says a man in his 50s who died on Thursday in the capital, Khartoum, had coronavirus, confirming the country’s first case. The man had visited the UAE in the first week of March, health authorities said.
Sudan has stopped issuing visas for and flights to, eight countries, including Italy and neighbouring Egypt, over fears of the coronavirus outbreak. Bus trips to Egypt have also been suspended.
Egypt was the first country in Africa to confirm a case of coronavirus. It has recorded two deaths and now has at least 80 cases.
4. Spain declares state of emergency over coronavirus

Spain will be in a state of emergency for the next 15 days to better combat the coronavirus, a dramatic increase to the policy response that will allow authorities to confine people and ration goods. The state of emergency, which Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced on Friday and will formally be decided by a cabinet meeting on Saturday, will give the government power to take wide-ranging measures, including temporarily occupying factories or any other premises except private homes.
Spain has the second-highest number of coronavirus cases in Europe after Italy. The current Spanish tally stands at 4,209, up by about 1,000 cases from Thursday and seven times as much as on Sunday. About 120 people have died.
5. Coronavirus: Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta feeling better already

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says he is “feeling better already” after testing positive for coronavirus. The Gunners have closed their training ground, while staff who had recent contact with Arteta are self-isolating.
“Thanks for your words and support,” the Spaniard, 37, wrote on Twitter. “We’re all facing a huge and unprecedented challenge. Everyone’s health is all that matters right now. Protect each other by following the guidelines,” he added. “We’ll come through this together.”
