Hosted by fashion blogger Temi Otedola of JTO Fashion, ‘Afternoon Tea in Ankara (ATIA)’ was created to encourage and inspire young creatives who want to break into the competitive fashion industry both in Nigeria and the UK.
The first Afternoon Tea In Ankara event took place in February 2016 and featured top fashion insiders on the panel; Reni Folawiyo, founder of Alara Lagos; Vanessa Kingori, first female publisher of British GQ who is also the first black publisher in Condé Nast UK, Caroline Rush, Chief Executive Officer of the British Fashion Council; and Omoyemi Akerele, founder of Style House Files and Lagos Fashion & Design Week.

According to Temi Otedola,
“I’m so thrilled to finally share with you the panel from the first ever ATIA 2016. There were inspiring speeches made by Reni Folawiyo, Omoyemi Akerele, Vanessa Kingori and Caroline Rush, who spoke about their experiences working as top figures in the Nigerian and British fashion industries. It was an honour to have these accomplished women on the first ever ATIA panel and I thank them again for their involvement.”
