he best beauty looks from last week were a chorus of understated glam. From the launch of Pharrell’s new jewelry collection for Tiffany & co. to the 2024 Prince’s Trust Global Gala, Black stars opted for doll-ups that were effortless yet versatile enough to fit into a plethora of ensembles. Whether it was Beyoncé continuing to make a case for the cowgirl aesthetic or Tiwa Savage playing the sultry card, the looks delivered on sass without trying too hard.

Ever since becoming the Creative Director for Louis Vuitton menswear, Pharrell Williams has only served back-to-back creative spectacles. Now, he’s added jewelry designer to his list of accomplishments with his Titan collection for Tiffany & co. For the launch of the line, Gabrielle Union-Wade graced the occasion decked in the gritty pieces from Titan that hit hard. To soften the toughness of the jewelry, she opted for a subtle but sultry makeup look. Featuring well-filled brows, smokey eyes, and glossy nude lips, it was an easy way to make a statement without insisting on it.
Still in the bustling city of New York, Anok Yai was all shades of melanin beauty at the 2024 Prince’s Trust Global Gala. To play up the gloriousness of her Black skin, the model opted for shimmers that brought just the right amount of sparkle needed to turn heads. Her sultry makeup look saw gold eyeshadow collide with glossy lips and a strong contour for a harmonious offering. She finished the look with a shimmering highlighter on her décolleté that caught the light with every move. Impressive!

We can tell you that we didn’t have Bantu knots on our bingo card last week, but once it presented itself, we couldn’t help but smile. Our Bantu moment came courtesy of Lizzo who posed for the ‘Gram wearing custom Tokyo Jamess with enough energy to go round.
