etting the tone for the holiday could mean different concepts to various individuals. For some, it is tucked in holiday food, fireworks, and jubilatory mode, and for others, it prompts an upbeat wardrobe switch-up. In the city of Lagos, it is all these and more with a sprinkle of dusty weather. Now that it’s officially time for the festivities, the girls have pitched their tents outside, and we’re set to experience stylish Nigerian celebs and influencers embark on a back-to-back slay mode with heavy embellishments, snatched waistlines, tasteful fabrics, structured silhouettes, and a confidence that springs from festive spirits.
Check out cool looks on stylish Nigerian celebs and influencers…
#1. Beaded pastels

Lagos native, Temi Otedola attended the British Fashion Awards in a beaded baby pink Standing Ground number that turned heads. The beads strung along like sea pebbles lined up in a pleated asymmetric train. The high-neck gown was simple but with a heavy air of elegance. Soft tones stay winning season after season, so sporting them in accents or as a monochromatic delight works for all parties involved.
#2. Ruffled glow

Less is more isn’t in the dictionary of some of these stylish Nigerian celebs and influencers. ICYMI: This holiday season, going hard is the memo. Necklines and hems decorated with ruffles paired with overstated fabrics cascading in billowy volumes is the to-do for the holidays. Nigerian designer, Mimi Yina ticked all these as she served chic in a yellow ruffled high-neck top paired with wide hem pants. This is a great way to announce your presence without words.
#3. Slices of chic

Designer, Lisa Folawiyo played the edgy card with the cut-out trend at the Future Face Global event. She strutted in an oversized blazer and high-waisted wide-hem pants — all with exaggerated cut-outs and bow details — from her brand. Folawiyo is known for her eclectic taste in fashion, and although famous for pairing diverse prints, this look still passed the vibe check. Her accessories — a beaded bag and chunky earrings — laid the look together nicely.
#4. Orange stripes

This is the season for owambe (parties). If you’re in Lagos, you already know it’s wedding season, and the aso-ebi is out! Tania Omotayo attended a traditional event in Ile Ife, Osun State, looking like royalty in an orange-striped print set and matching headgear. The peplum blouse with embroidered white details spiraled in contrast to the straight-striped prints on the skirt. Pin this look on your holiday wedding guest mood board.
#5. All-over prints poise

Entrepreneur, Chioma Ikokwu isn’t new to the game of flamboyance, and this Fendi set is the perfect unbothered look for a semi-formal business meeting. She spruced up the look with yellow pumps and a matching cross-body bag that added a much-needed pop to the look.
#6. Black sparkles

Black and silver is a complementary duo that never misses. As the saying goes: when in doubt, wear black. I dare say, incorporate some silver for a dash of glam. Nigerian designer, Yutee Rone headed to the 2023 Future Face Global event wearing a black bejeweled look from her brand, Yutee Rone Atelier. She opted for black wide-hem pants with silver adornments paired with a detailed corset-style top. She completed the look with pink pumps and an unapologetic injection of silver-toned accessories.
#7. Sheer whites

Ex-BBN star, Cynthia Nwadiora was seen on the gram putting an all-white sheer outfit to much-needed work. The look, from Nelo Woman’s RTW collection, saw a blend of sheer bodice top and fringe mini skirt to create a dazzling result. It’s a girly outfit, perfect for a holiday link-up with friends on a warm afternoon.
