T

he metaphorical appeal of likening a delightful style to a well-served meal is an apt connotation, and the lingua, “ate and left no crumbs” further emphasizes the point. Season after season, the streets of Lagos can be likened to a cooking show with every style girl and her glam team offering a wide range of pleasant servings both for their pleasures and for us the spectators. Servitude is indeed a lifestyle considering the diverse inclusions of eclecticism and personal touches in fashion. And like any foodie amid vast culinary options, our mood boards burst with inspiration, yet there’s somehow space to stuff in another satisfactory getup.

Check out the fashion takes of stylish Lagos baddies recently…

#1. Orange you blue-tiful

Nollywood actress Rita Dominic was a beautiful wedding guest in a Lanre Da Silva getup. The maximalist outfit featured a mono-sleeve velvet top that flaunted a ruffled high-low hem and an embroidered floral waistline. She paired this with an orange skirt for more pomp. Although both are strong hues, the combo blended into a sweet symphony.

#2. Sheer sass

While a few cry that the sheer trend has done its bit, the fad remains assertive. Ex-BBN housemate Erica Nlewedim reminded us of this in an off-shoulder Matopeda offering. The slit and lightweight fabric exuded a sultry feminine vibe, and her braided updo was a reminder of her African heritage.

#3. Hi-sheen monochrome

Nigerian designer Yutee Rone celebrated her birthday in a metallic monochrome look. The cut-out dress with a high slit featured a drawstring at the bust area and a ruched waistline that highlighted her frame appropriately. She injected purple platform heels and statement earrings into the mix for more pizzazz. This is a hot date night outfit to add sizzle to your relationship.

#4. Crisp and playful

This A.W.A.K.E. Mode skirt with laser-cut circles has been making its rounds among the style girls. From its length to its texture and playfulness, it evokes a sense of whimsical wonder. Recently, style influencer Hafsah Mohammed added her rendition to it, and the result was the truth. She paired it with a white Jacquemus long-sleeve crop top, studded evening sandals, and a mini purse that could do no wrong.

#5. Solid prints

Some trends have sworn allegiance to stylish Lagos baddies. One such is zebra prints — the Blair Waldorf of prints. Fashionable, never relenting, and always at the forefront. Nonye Udeogu popped her side-pleated black dress with a structured zebra print purse and gold accessories, showing us another way to style the print. While the zebra print purse was the truth, we couldn’t ignore her statement jewelry that pushed the ball further.

#6. Green with grace

Chef’s kiss to the chef herself who knows how to whip up a good meal and outfit. Hilda Baci posed in an Oríré pastel gown for the cover of Daily Times Now magazine. Although a simple dress, it held hints of distinctiveness that kept the sway and the stride up. Hilda Baci is one of the stylish Lagos baddies whose beauty and brains remain obvious to all who glimpse.

#7. Asymmetric elegance

A midi black dress is an essential piece with versatile styling potential. The key is to either choose one with distinct details or go heavy on accessorizing. Tania Omotayo took the first route in a Templ8te black dress with an asymmetric hem and structured shoulders as she headed to the new ShowMax app launch. She paired this with yellow heels and a Lady Dior bag to underscore her elegance.
