hen suave gentlemen linkup, it’s always a sight for sore eyes. Tailored suits, elevated athleisure, and crafty details served as “the stuff” of the stylish celebrity menswear offerings spotted last week. For instance, the 2024 NAACP Image Awards, hosted by Queen Latifah, drew attention to men upping polished offerings, like Usher in a sexy LaQuan Smith suit unbuttoned to reveal a chiseled chest. Indeed, last week pulled in trophies for the stars, as well as delightful coordination, on and off the carpets, that reiterated Black men’s ability to serve style.
The Looks
Actor Lawrence Robinson’s suit game at the NAACP awards was a hundred plus tax. He wore a structured Balmain suit with red, white, and black details on the left side of the jacket. The result was a polished offering that still had a ton of excitement in its flex. With emphasis on suiting, Idris Elba put in a good word for the classic piece as he headed out for the same award show in a Gucci suit. The actor finished the look with befitting dress shoes and dandy sunglasses.
As the days go by, men’s fashion continues to evolve and loosen its reins on tradition to embrace fluidity and eclectic inclusions. Jermain Dupri turned up the tempo decked in a Louis Vuitton loud luxury getup. He styled a pair of LV monogram shorts with a complementary jacket and finished off the look with a bold red LV duffel bag and socks for a trendy representation.
