The year has only just begun and African celebrities and style stars are already showing off seriously peng looks. Style stars are consistently using their style on and off Instagram to prove that a global pandemic doesn’t equal an end to doing the things we love––especially if it keeps us going.
Style aside, we must all keep in mind that safety is paramount, and with a second wave of the coronavirus pandemic now taking its course, we implore you to continuously mask up if you need to step out of the house. Do not forget to wash your hands always and sanitize with an alcohol-based sanitizer if washing your hands is not possible.
As with every weekend, there is bound to be a wedding somewhere and last weekend in Nigeria, Mabel Makun, CEO Midas Interiors Ltd and wife to comedian Ayo Makun–– took to Instagram to show us how she stepped out for a wedding. Styled by Mimi Yina, she was all dressed up in a brown and black corset dress by Veekee James that cinched her waist impeccably. Instead of a gele, she opted for a twisted, headband-like turban, and completed her look with a pair of gold earrings, a black clutch, and a flawless face beat.
Over in South Africa, Muslimah fashion influencer, model, stylist, and designer Thameenah Saint, gave us a safari-inspired dose of modest fashion as she became one with the jungle in a sleeveless leopard print dress. She styled the dress with a black long-sleeve top and a matching hijab scarf. An embellished black belt sealed the look as she finished off with a pop of red lipstick to add color to her look as the sun rose behind her.
The looks shared via Instagram posts by African celebrities and fashion influencers were nothing short of chic, edgy, and glamorous and it’s safe to say that we are, as usual, living vicariously through them.
