Big Brother Naija 2020 is reportedly hitting the airwaves sooner than anticipated with the announcement of the video audition. The Senate on Tuesday asked the Federal Government to consider a comprehensive review of the power privatization policy with a view to reversing the current arrangement. Big Brother Naija 2020

Lorry drivers are being tested for coronavirus at the border

A top Tanzanian official has accused Kenya of economic sabotage and questioned the reliability of Kenya’s coronavirus test kits in an ongoing row over testing at the border.

Nineteen drivers who were turned away by Kenya at the border for testing positive for COVID-19 have tested negative back in Tanzania, a statement from Arusha’s Regional Commissioner Mrisho Mashaka Gambo says.

The Arusha commissioner said that this was a deliberate strategy designed by Kenya to sabotage Tanzania’s tourism industry. Kenya’s health minister did not give a response to a direct question about the accusations.

4. Turkey says low risk of a second outbreak, open to controlled tourism

Turkey does not risk a second wave of infections from the new coronavirus at the moment, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said, adding that Ankara was preparing to start what he called controlled health tourism with 31 countries as of Wednesday.

Turkey’s daily number of new COVID-19 cases has fallen to around 1,000 from around 4,500 last month. Its official coronavirus death toll stands at 4,199, with more than 110,000 people having recovered.


5. Manuel Neuer signs new Bayern Munich contract

Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has extended his contract with the Bundesliga club until June 2023. Neuer has won seven German titles, five DFB Cups and the Champions League since joining the club from Schalke in 2011.

The Bayern captain, 34, says he “feels at home in Bavaria” and is looking to the “future with great optimism.”
