South African Label MaXhosa By Laduma Did It For The C.U.L.T.U.R.E With Their Knitwear Collection | #HLFW18

A fashion and culture enthusiast who's really a food loving…
South African designer Laduma Ngxokolo, founder of MaXhosa by Laduma, who is known for creating modern Xhosa-inspired knitwear collection, delivered a beautiful collection on the runway as Lagos Fashion Week 2018 came to an end. The collection was one of my best as it made me feel like taking a vacation on an Island while wearing pieces from this SS19 collection tagged C.U.L.T.U.R.E.
The Xhosas are known for their appreciation for and skilled use of colour in their designs and this was deeply reflected in this collection. The collection featured classic-inspired ensembles modernized by the use of richly designed traditional prints made from a mix of vibrant and subtle colours.
The collection was further brought to life with the use of accessories like scarves, sling bags, statement traditional-inspired earrings and coloured stockings. Some of these unisex accessories were part of a collaboration between Laduma, South African luxury accessories brand Okapi and influential South African hip-hop artist Rikhado “Riky Rick” Makhado.
