2. Shaquille O’Neal to unveil unreleased collaboration with Nas and JAY-Z

Back in 1996, Shaquille O’Neal unveiled his third studio album, “You Can’t Stop The Reign.” The project contained 19 songs and a wealth of assists from the likes of The Notorious B.I.G., Mobb Deep, Bobby Brown, Peter Gunz, and JAY-Z, the last of whom appeared alongside the legendary baller on the standout cut “No Love Lost.”

On Wednesday, June 26, Shaq hopped on social media to announce that “You Can’t Stop The Reign” will officially land on digital streaming platforms on Friday, June 28. In addition, he confirmed that an unreleased track with Nas and JAY-Z will be included in the updated release. As far as why, it turned out that clearance and publishing issues were the reason.

3. South Africa: Keyshia Cole is coming to SA

American singer Keyshia Cole is set to tour South Africa later this year. Concert organizers Glen21 Entertainment confirmed the R&B songstress will kick-start her tour in Cape Town on September 26 at the Grand Arena, GrandWest, then move to Sun City Superbowl in North West on September 28, and conclude her schedule on September 29 in Pretoria at the SunBet Arena at Time Square.

4. Killer Mike will not face charges over Grammys arrest

Los Angeles rapper Killer Mike will not face criminal charges following his arrest at the 2024 Grammy Awards in February. Mike, one-half of the popular hip-hop duo Run the Jewels, was booked for misdemeanor battery after an altercation with a security guard at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena.

Details surrounding the incident haven’t been publicly released. According to reports, the Los Angeles City Attorney’s office has declined to pursue formal charges against the rapper. A representative for Killer Mike confirmed this to the press. This comes after Mike won three Grammy Awards at the ceremony.

5. Nacho joins Al-Qadsiah after leaving Real Madrid

Nacho Fernandez, the experienced defender who spent his entire professional career at Real Madrid, has found a new home in Saudi Arabia. Al-Qadsiah, a club in the Saudi Pro League, announced on Thursday that Nacho had signed a two-year deal with them after leaving the Spanish giants as a free agent.

Nacho, 34, was a key figure for Real Madrid for over two decades, rising through the youth ranks and making over 250 appearances for the senior team. He won numerous trophies with the club, including five Champions League titles and three La Liga championships.

While Nacho was a reliable backup option for much of his career, his leadership and experience were highly valued by Real Madrid. He now heads to Al-Qadsiah, looking for a new challenge and potentially more playing time in a less competitive league. The move to Saudi Arabia comes after Nacho’s stint with the Spanish national team at the Euros this summer.
