I always wondered when Hollywood would join the “Unretouched Photos” movement just like the fashion and music industry has done in recent times. Apparently, I wasn’t the only one with this train of thought. Big time photographer Peter Lindbergh was thinking along those lines too and his latest work for popular, international tyre brand Pirelli proves it.
Every year, the Italian based multinational brand releases celebrity featured calendars for the next year, however, its 2017 calendar takes a bit of an unusual twist as the images digress from sexy and provocative to natural and pure as Peter Lindbergh captures 14 of Hollywood’s top actresses au naturel – with ‘no makeup’.
The 2017 calendar titled “Emotional,” features power actresses like Nicole Kidman, Helen Mirren, Uma Thurman, Julianne Moore, Lupita Nyong’o, Robin Wright and more looking stunning in emotive black and white portraits.
According to the ace photog which shot the unretouched photos in May and June of this year, “My aim was to portray women in a different way…And I did it by calling in actresses who’ve played an important role in my life, getting as close as possible to them to take my photos.”
