Sandra Ikeji, sister to popular Nigerian blogger, Linda Ikeji, has broken the Guinness World Record for the most bridesmaids in a wedding.
Sandra Ikeji’s wedding, to her now husband, Arinze, which held Saturday, January 11, had 200 bridesmaids, 32 more ladies than the last record held by Tina Ackles from the USA in 2015. Social media was set on fire with photos from the wedding which was literally the talk of town by Lagos’ standards.
Set at the Landmark Event Centre, the wedding was celebrated in the kind of grand style befitting of an event planner’s wedding. The story has it that Sandra always wanted to make history by having the longest train of bridesmaids ever so she went ahead and did it. Getting married and breaking a highly coveted record in the same day must be such a dream come true.
Social media has been buzzing with questions, with some people asking how she got so many ladies to be her bridesmaids while others wondered if she paid the ladies so she could have the huge bridal team.
However, according to sources, the bridesmaids are people Sandra has known through her companies including a modeling agency, Blackdove, which has been in operation since 2004. Two days before her grand wedding, she posted a picture of an application on the Guinness Record website for most bridesmaids record.
