A fashion and culture enthusiast who's really a food loving…
South Africa welcomed international designers for the inaugural BRICS Fashion Show which took place from the 23rd to the 27th of October in Sandton City. BRICS is the acronym coined for an association of five major emerging national economies: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The designers who attended from these countries wowed fashion lovers with their collections.
Amongst these designers was Helen Rödel from Brazil. The brand specialises in bringing handmade artisanal techniques from the past into the future. Helen Rödel showcased colourful hand knitted and crocheted pieces that included mini and maxi dresses, bodysuits and unitard. Having loved knitting as a child, this collection had me singing D’banj‘s “Fall in love” song over and over again.
Helen Rödel’s collections are not just colourful, innovative and chic, they are also cutting-edge and environmentally friendly and are bound to last a long time. Truly, the brand has found a missing link in the contemporary fashion scene.
Here’s a look at the collection…
