1. Rihanna returns to music with Black Panther soundtrack

After years of waiting, Rihanna, the musician, is back. The beauty mogul is set to drop her new record after her six-year hiatus and is returning in a major musical manner, as she’ll be featured on the “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” with a record titled “Lift Me Up.” The record was written as a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, as a record to celebrate and honor his career and legacy. In addition to Riri earning a writer’s credit on the song, she was joined by writing collaborators Tems, Ryan Coogler, and Oscar winner Ludwig Göransson.

“After speaking with Ryan and hearing his direction for the film and the song, I wanted to write something that portrays a warm embrace from all the people that I’ve lost in my life. I tried to imagine what it would feel like if I could sing to them now and express how much I miss them,” said Tems in a statement. “Rihanna has been an inspiration to me so hearing her convey this song is a great honor.”

The song drops this Friday, October 28, via the Anti artist’s label, Westbury Road, in partnership with Roc Nation, Def Jam Recordings, and Hollywood Records. Also, gear up with your tribes as “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” will open in U.S. theaters on November 11, with the soundtrack available on November 4.

2. Nigeria: Phyno previews upcoming single ‘BBO’

Nigerian superstar rapper Phyno has previewed his next single, which he calls “BBO.” On Tuesday, October 25, the indigenous rapper took to his Twitter account to preview his next single, which he calls “Bad Bitches Only (BBO).” The single is an Amapiano tune that combines a catchy repetitive phrase, a smooth beat, and Phyno’s faultless delivery for a track that’s sure to be a hit.

The work is set for release on Friday, October 28 and it’s set to usher Phyno to a strong end in what has been a rather quiet year for him. Phyno has previously delivered on an Amapiano sound, with his performance on DJ Kaywise’s “Highway” becoming one of the biggest hits of 2021. Rihanna Black Panther

3. South Africa: ‘Blood and Water’ season 3 teaser debuts, release date confirmed

Netflix South Africa’s hit series “Blood and Water” is set to return to the streaming platform on November 25. Puleng and Parkhurst High’s teens are back, and if the series’ newly released trailer is anything to go by, fans are in for a thrilling ride in season three. On Wednesday, Netflix teased a first-look trailer for “Blood and Water” season three, and the seconds-long clip is packed with enough to anticipate the show’s November debut.

From the trailer, we can confirm that Puleng and Fikile finally get the chance to be a family but there’s more to uncover from the ruthless human trafficking ring that Puleng uncovers in season two’s quest to prove Fikile’s DNA. The new trailer also hints at new faces joining the Parkhurst adventures, a welcome development from season two’s cliffhanger finale.

4. Serena Williams hints at a return to tennis

In August, Serena Williams broke the internet when she said in a Vogue interview that she intended to “evolve away” from tennis, appearing to indicate that she was retiring. However, Williams may not be done with making history on the court. On September 2, the 41-year-old sensation played what many believed to be her last match at New York’s Arthur Ashe Stadium for the U.S. Open. She lost in a three-set defeat to Ajla Tomljanovic.

During a recent discussion at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference, Williams told TechCrunch Editor-in-Chief Jordan Crook, “It was really great because I didn’t really even think about the whole retirement—I still haven’t really thought about it. But I did wake up the other day and I went on the court and I was like, ‘Oh, for the first time I’m on the court and I’m not playing for competition.’ And it was really weird.” Cook asked about the Vogue interview, and she clarified, “Well, I’m not retired.”

“It sounded like you were on the fence about it at the U.S. Open,” Crook remarked. “I know you haven’t thought about it… but what are the chances we will see you play again?” “The chances are very high,” Williams responded. Nonetheless, she stressed family was a priority, “But at the same time, I’m so happy. I really want my daughter and my family to be ahead of me. It’s interesting how women think, and I like that we think that way and I think that’s what makes us so special.”

5. Barcelona out of the Champions League

Barcelona has been eliminated from the Champions League after Inter beat Viktoria Plzen to ensure they join Bayern Munich in the round of 16. An Edin Dzeko double and goals from Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Romelu Lukaku saw Inter beat the Czech team 4-0 in the early kick-off on Wednesday, giving them 10 points from five matches, while Barca sits six points behind them in third place before their meeting with Group C leaders Bayern Munich.

The relegation to the Europa League is a devastating financial blow to the Camp Nou side. Barca was forced to sell off assets over the course of the summer to fund their spending spree in the window, bringing in the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Jules Koundé in big-money deals. But without a Champions League windfall, the club’s expected earnings for this year will plummet, and that may cause serious problems for Xavi’s team. Rihanna Black Panther

Heading into Wednesday’s match against Bayern, Barca had lost nine of their 12 Champions League clashes with the German giants. The only team to have lost more against a single opponent is Bayern, who have lost 10 times to Real Madrid.
