1. Rema wins Best Afrobeats at 2023 MTV EMAs

Rema has won his first MTV EMAs. At the 2023 MTV EMAs, the singer won the award for Best African Act after fending off competition from other superstars, including Davido and Burna Boy. Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj were the highest winners, clutching three awards respectively. The 2023 MTV EMAs ceremony, which was scheduled for Paris, had earlier been cancelled for what organizers said was a cautionary measure to protect all those who would be traveling down from different parts of the world in light of the situation between Israel and Palestine.

2. Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker welcome baby boy

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker have welcomed a baby boy—the former’s fourth child and her first with the latter. According to reports, the baby was born on Saturday. Kardashian and Barker have not yet issued a formal statement on their new bundle of joy. There was speculation that the couple’s son would be born soon since the iconic drummer and reality star’s sister, Kylie Jenner, were spotted visiting Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles earlier this week.

Kardashian, 44, debuted her baby bump at one of Barker’s band Los Angeles concerts in June, holding up a cardboard sign from the audience reading, “TRAVIS IM PREGNANT.” The duo revealed the sex of their baby at a rock ‘n’ roll-themed bash in June.

3. Newlywed South African footballer Bongi Ntuli has passed away

AmaZulu striker Bongi “Mdeva” Ntuli has died. Bongi, 32, who recently got married to AmaZulu CEO, Sinenjabulo Zungu, died at Midlands Medical Center on Sunday, November 5, after losing his battle with cancer. This was confirmed by his football club on Sunday.

“It is with a very heavy heart that we inform the untimely passing of our beloved Center Forward and loyal servant, Bonginkosi Ntuli. Ntuli was (very recently) diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer, which metastasized and ultimately led to his death at the Midlands Medical Centre in Pietermaritzburg.” The statement continued: “May his beautiful soul rest in eternal peace. Brandy is getting into the holiday spirit with new music. According to a release from Motown Records, the Grammy Award winner is gearing up to release her first-ever holiday album titled, “Christmas with Brandy” on Friday, November 10. Fans can anticipate a blend of “classic covers and original holiday material,” marking Brandy’s first studio project since her 2020 release, “B7.” The new album will also coincide with the singer’s upcoming Netflix movie, “Best. Christmas. Ever.” The holiday comedy, starring Heather Graham from “Boogie Nights” and Jason Biggs from “American Pie,” is set to premiere on November 16.

5. Jude Bellingham sends out positive message after injuring shoulder

Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham has reacted to Sunday’s draw against Rayo where he suffered a shoulder injury. Bellingham picked up the shoulder injury and required lengthy treatment on the pitch before eventually continuing. Despite seeming to be in pain, he was able to play the 90 minutes despite being seen wearing a strap on his shoulder in the second half. Bellingham’s injury is not major, according to Carlo Ancelotti, and he may be available for their Champions League match against Braga.

The 2023 Kopa Award winner has now offered a further update and appears in good spirits. “Just missed that final touch last night, no drama. Stick together, stay positive and move on,” he wrote on X. Real Madrid’s goalless draw means Girona have taken the lead in the league standings, as they have 31 points after 12 matches, two ahead of Bellingham’s side and four ahead of Barcelona. Real Madrid will next face off against SC Braga in the Champions League on Wednesday, November 8.
