Amazon Prime Video has renewed its hit action series Reacher for Season 4 ahead of the third season’s premiere in 2025. This early renewal is no surprise, given the show’s proven ability to captivate audiences and keep them wanting more. Notably, Reacher also received a Season 3 renewal before Season 2 even debuted, highlighting Amazon’s strong confidence in the series’ continued success.
Based on Lee Child’s bestselling Jack Reacher novels, Reacher has become a winning formula for Amazon Prime Video, blending high-octane action, intricate plotting, and a larger-than-life protagonist portrayed by Alan Ritchson. The series’ impeccable delivery has solidified its status as one of the biggest hits on the platform. The show’s second season, which premiered in December 2023, shattered viewership records, becoming the most-watched release of the year.
What to Expect in Season 3
“Reacher has become a phenomenon that continues to resonate with our global customers beyond our wildest expectations, and we are thrilled to bring the series back for an additional season,” said Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios. “We look forward to more action and adventure from the immensely talented team behind the series, including Nick Santora, Alan Ritchson, Lee Child, Skydance, and CBS Studios.”
In Season 3, the story will adapt the seventh book in Lee Child’s series, Persuader. Reacher will embark on a mission to rescue an informant held captive by a dangerous adversary from his past. The season will see the return of Maria Sten as Neagley, despite the character’s absence in the original novel. Joining the cast are Anthony Michael Hall, Sonya Cassidy, Brian Tee, Johnny Berchtold, Robert Montesinos, Daniel David Stewart, and Olivier Richters.
Expanding the Reacher Universe
Prime Video is also developing a spin-off series, The Untitled Neagley Project, centered around Frances Neagley, portrayed by Maria Sten. The synopsis reveals: “Frances Neagley is a private investigator in Chicago. When she discovers that a beloved friend from her past has been killed in a suspicious accident, she becomes hell-bent on justice. Drawing on everything she learned from Jack Reacher and her time as a member of the 110 Special Investigators, Neagley embarks on a perilous journey to uncover a menacing evil.”
