1. Khloe Kardashian shuts down pregnancy rumors
The nasty things you’re saying about me over A RUMOR! I have seen so many hurtful/despicable stories and tweets about me over a false story. And if it were true…. it’s MY LIFE, NOT YOURS.

Reality TV star, Khloe Kardashian has shut down the pregnancy rumors about her. Earlier this week, rumors went around about her being pregnant for her ex-boyfriend and NBA player Tristan Thompson. It was later confirmed that the reality TV star is not pregnant for the NBA star and father of her first child.
In a series of posts shared on her Twitter page on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, Khloe Kardashian addressed the rumors of her pregnancy with the NBA star.
“The nasty things you’re saying about me over A RUMOR! I have seen so many hurtful/despicable stories and tweets about me over a false story. And if it were true… it’s MY LIFE, NOT YOURS,” she tweeted.
2. APC governors pledge support for the newly appointed presidential Chief of Staff, Gambari

The Progressives Governors’ Forum has congratulated Prof Ibrahim Gambari, on his appointment as Chief of Staff to the President, Muhammadu Buhari.
It reaffirmed its commitment to continue to support the President and his team in achieving the Next Level goal of the All Progressives Congress-led regime.
This was contained in a statement signed by its Chairman and Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Bagudu, in Abuja, on Thursday.
3. Mauritius declares victory in COVID-19 battle

Mauritius has declared victory in the battle against coronavirus but says it has not yet won the war. Health Minister Kailesh Jagutpal said that there are zero active coronavirus cases in the country and no new cases had been reported in 17 days.
In total, the island nation has had 332 cases and 10 deaths. It was among the first in Africa to impose a total lockdown. The government is, however, urging people to continue taking precautions even as it maintains some of the restrictive measures.
The country’s parliament is debating two pieces of legislation, the COVID-19 Bill and the Quarantine Bill, which are designed to help the country get back on track
4. 36.5 million Americans have lost their jobs in the past 2 months

Some 2.98 million Americans filed initial jobless claims in the week ending May 9, the US Department of Labor reported on Thursday, pushing the total number of Americans who have lost their jobs in the wake of coronavirus lockdowns over the past two months to 36.5 million.
Though the weekly tally is slowing from a March peak of seven million, the latest figures nevertheless exceeded many analysts’ expectations.
Moreover, the weekly headline jobless claims number does not fully capture the historic stress sweeping the US labor market because it does not include self-employed and gig workers who only became eligible for unemployment benefits under the recently passed congressional virus-aid packages.
5. Football in England: Government open door for a safe return in June

The government is opening the door for the return of professional football in England in June, according to the culture secretary. Oliver Dowden said Thursday’s meeting with the Football Association, Premier League and English Football League was positive and progressed plans for the sport to resume.
He added that plans should “include widening access for fans to view live coverage and ensure finances from the game’s resumption supports the wider football family.”
The Premier League met on Monday to discuss “Project Restart” and hopes for a return to action on 12 June, with matches played behind closed doors.
