There is nothing more interesting than food and fashion especially when they occur simultaneously and Ralph Lauren understands this. For the Ralph Lauren SS19 show at the ongoing NYFW, the brand expanded its previously secret café nestled into the 72nd Street side of his Madison Avenue women’s flagship into a full-floor coffee shop – Ralph’s Cafe. For the breakfast show, the brand served yoghurt with berries, egg white frittata, bagels and lox. Yum!
According to the brand, “the Spring 2019 Collection celebrates a pure and powerful kind of luxury with punctuations of high contrast and sleek shine. It’s a personal style that is sophisticated, confident and glamorous.”
And we totally agree as the Spring collection was all about polished looks with unexpected silhouettes defined by black, white and gold hues.
The show and collection was a throwback to fashion shows in the ‘50s and ‘60s and allowed for an incredibly up-close view of the clothes that the runway doesn’t typically afford.
The collection features metallic sequins, modernist accessories, sculpted silhouettes, elegantly exaggerated proportions and the introduction of the RL50 handbag.
