Nigerian Menswear brand, Post Imperial releases its AW17 Lookbook following its presentation at the Lagos Fashion and Design Week Autumn Winter show a few weeks ago.
The brand’s designer Niyi Okuboyejo, described the new collection as being inspired by the integration of African immigrants into the western society. According to Niyi,
“During that cultural exchange, there is a fine line of conforming to new surroundings while still identifying with ancestral roots. New traditions are formed while others are dissolved.”
The designer interpreted this cultural exchange through a fusion of African fabrics like the tie-dye print and western fabrics like velvet.
