Pharrell Williams Launches “LVERS,” His First Fragrance With Louis Vuitton

Pharrell Williams is as comfortable on a runway as he is behind a mixing desk. One year after joining Louis Vuitton as its menswear creative director, the renowned artist and innovator is launching ‘LVERS,’ his signature fragrance, with the French luxury label. This exciting collaboration sees Pharrell team up with Louis Vuitton’s Master Perfumer, Jacques Cavallier Belletrud, to create a scent that embodies the invigorating energy of sunlight.

For their inspiration? Pharrell and Jacques looked no further than the sun. “The sunlight theme that illuminated Pharrell’s first show on the Pont Neuf (in Paris) in June 2023 inspired us to translate photosynthesis into a fragrance,” Jacques Cavallier Belletrud said in a press release. “This may seem an abstract concept, but if we reflect on existence, photosynthesis lies at the origin of everything,” he added.

Fragrance profile

“LVERS” (pronounced ‘lovers’) comes just in time for the summer months. The fragrance is characterized by its crisp, green freshness, reminiscent of lush leaves and young grass caressed by sunlight.

The scent is designed to be a poetic representation of the sun, capturing its energy and warmth. LVERS includes notes of galbanum, cedarwood, sandalwood, ginger, and bergamot, creating a robust yet fresh profile that appeals to all.

When Louis Vuitton described LVERS as “a spray of sunlight distilled in a bottle,” they meant no detail went unnoticed under Pharrell’s watchful eye. The perfume is contained in a glass bottle whose golden glow appears to literally radiate scented rays.

And that’s not all. Pharrell designed accessories to complement the perfume, including a travel case and perfume holder with the camo motif developed by Williams for his first Louis Vuitton collection. This design reflects Pharrell’s signature style and adds a touch of modern elegance to the overall presentation.

LVERS is set to launch worldwide on June 19 and will be available online at louisvuitton.com and in Louis Vuitton stores. The 100ml Eau de Parfum is priced at approximately $326, making it a premium addition to any fragrance collection.

This isn’t entirely new territory for Pharrell. Remember “G I R L,” the collaborative scent he launched with COMME des GARÇONS and KAWS in 2014? LVERS marks another milestone in his innovative career, merging his artistic vision with the luxurious heritage of Louis Vuitton.
