From Christian Dior’s feminist-inspired collection to Miuccia Prada toying with a unique approach to elegance and over 108 designers showcasing their looks, Paris Fashion Week Fall 2020 proved once again that fashion can be deeply empowering.
Valentino, who believes in the collective individuality that brings humanity together as one revealed a collection that focused on uniforms. Nigerian ready-to-wear eponymous fashion brand, Kenneth Ize delivered structured designs with colourful threads as he made his Paris Fashion Week debut last Monday.
Chanel took a different turn with Virginie Viard as her latest collection had a more youthful air to it. Issey Miyake on one end took twinning to a whole new level as models were seen on the runway wearing conjoined pieces of knitwear.
In presenting his collection, Louis Vuitton’s Nicolas Ghesquire drew inspiration from the past while mirroring the present. According to him, “I wanted to imagine what could happen if the past could look at us.”
Overall, latex, monochromatic looks, delicate drapings, rich leather, cyborg-esque shoulder pads, fringe frenzy, plaids, dramatic capes, boots of all lengths and more are what designers who showcased at the just concluded Paris Fashion Week expect you to wear come Fall 2020.
