For the 2019 Harper’s Bazaar’s Icon Party, stars celebrated the magazine’s global fashion director Carine Rotfield. Carine is also the woman behind CR Fashion Book. The 2019 Harper’s Bazaar ICONS party – with Cartier as the exclusive Maison partner – took place for a sixth consecutive year at the Plaza Hotel in New York on Sept. 6.
As always, the Harper’s Bazaar Icons Party never fails to bring star power to New York Fashion Week. Besides celebrating Carine, stars also celebrated the fashion magazine’s #BAZAARICONS September issue, which features groundbreaking actors, models and musicians.
This year’s Icons lineup includes Alicia Keys, who was the evening’s performer, Celine Dion, Kate Moss, Christy Turlington, Regina King, Shailene Woodley, Lakeith Stanfield, Alek Wek and Devon Aoki and Awkwafina. According to Carol Smith, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and Marie Claire senior VP and publishing director,
“the iconic men and women featured in this year’s portfolio embody the essence of being an independent – they’ve challenged the norm, defied expectations, broken boundaries and rewritten the rules – personally, professionally, politically, creatively, in life and around the world.”
Among the A-list attendees at New York Fashion Week’s biggest party was Zendaya who was suited up in a chic grey double-breasted ensemble and necktie as she showed off her beautiful brunette loose curls. Janelle Monae wowed in a voluminous mini dress, complete with a satin bow tie. Her accessories were a standout, which included glitzy booties, mini clutch and numerous crystal hairpins.
