1. Osas Ighodaro lands international award nomination for ‘Rattlesnake’

Osas Ighodaro has landed her first international award nomination for her role in Play Network Studio’s “Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story.” Ighodaro was nominated alongside seven other African stars including Ijeoma Grace Agu, for the Best African Actress category of the Septimius Awards formerly known as NVIFF in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Confirming the nomination, the actress shared a post on Instagram of what appears to be her look to the award ceremony.
She captioned the post: “Thank you so much for my nomination @septimiusawards for Best African Actress for my role as Amara in ‘RattleSnake: The Ahanna Story’. It is a true honor! A gift of a role that keeps on giving. Nollywood to the World!” The nomination follows her Best Actress win at the recently held 8th AMVCA for her role as Amara in the Play Network Studios’ remake.

2. Nick Cannon confirms he has more children on the way

Nick Cannon, a father of eight, says he is expecting more children. In an interview with Angela Yee’s “Lip Service” podcast, the 41-year-old said, “The stork is on the way… If you thought the numbers I put up in 2021… It was a lot of kids last year.” He revealed he was attempting celibacy but after the death of his son 5-month-old son, Zen, with Alyssa Scott, who passed away from brain cancer, he fell into a depression and began having sex again.
“Everybody saw I was so down, so everybody was like, ‘Let’s just give him a little vagina, that’s gonna cure it all.’” Cannon explained. “So I fell victim to it.” He also hinted more babies could be coming in September or October.

Sthembiso “SK” Khoza’s ex-fiancée Ayanda Hlongwane has broken her silence about her alleged abuse at the hands of the actor. This comes after SK’s Instagram Live interview on Ama-Tyma Wellness Check-in, speaking about his relationship with Ayanda, made the rounds on social media. The former “The Queen” actor and Ayanda’s failed relationship is laced with abuse allegations, arrests, and legal battles.
Ayanda took to her Instagram on Tuesday, saying she could not hold back any longer as her alleged abuser kept parading as innocent. In the post, she shared texts between the former couple and images showing the injuries she allegedly suffered at the hands of SK as well as legal papers from SK’s lawyer asking for mediation, explaining why she dropped the charges. She felt the interview and constant comments on the matter by SK were emotionally abusive and alluded that there was a truth she could unveil that would shock South Africa.
4. Ghana records first cases of Monkeypox

The Ghana Health Service has said five cases of Monkeypox disease have been recorded in Ghana since May 24. According to the Service, it detected 12 suspected cases that were investigated in the country. The recorded cases of Monkeypox were in three regions; Eastern, Western, and Greater Accra.
The Director-General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, at a press briefing on Wednesday, June 8, noted that “one of the cases was recorded in a Ghanaian who traveled from the United States of America to Ghana, so he might have picked it up from there.” Outbreaks of the virus have been found in Europe, Australia, and America. Monkeypox symptoms often include fever and rash, but the infection is usually mild.

Outgoing Manchester United star Paul Pogba is the latest sporting icon to receive the documentary treatment, with Amazon Prime confirming that a series is on the way. The World Cup winner became one of the most expensive footballers in history when he rejoined the Red Devils for €105 million (£88m) in 2016, and he is regarded as one of the most gifted midfielders of his generation. Pogba’s personality has won him admiration and derision in equal measure, with younger fans reveling in his stylish dance celebrations.
The documentary, which has been dubbed “The Pogmentary” by producers, will focus on Paul Pogba, featuring his exploits on the pitch and his life off the pitch. Georgia Brown, who is head of European originals at Amazon Studios, says that the documentary will provide a glimpse into the “man behind the fame” by looking at his life away from the field of play. Amazon Prime’s Paul Pogba documentary will be available to stream on June 17, 2022.
