There’s no shortage of talking points when it comes to the styles our famously fabulous women showed off this past weekend. There was an unusual assortment of ensembles that just showed off a combination of unbridled design creativity, unique approach to styling and unapologetic swag – what mere mortals refer to as “posing.”
The celebrity style highlight of the weekend was Toke Makinwa in a Mai Atafo creation. Although previously seen during Arise Fashion Week, we just can’t get enough of the haute androgynous silhouette. But Toke isn’t the only celebrity whose look stood out, all the women on this list pulled off several forms of sartorial elegance and of course, we stan!
Here are the best celebrity and influencer styles from this past weekend…
Toke Makinwa
Mai Atafo’s female designs have been ranking high on the fashion scenes and Toke Makinwa made this piece even more attractive with her choice of accessories as she attended the Vodacom Durban July.
Og Okonkwo
Is there anything lovelier than a gorgeous wedding guest dress? Please see designer Og Okonkwo in a style temple design for reference.
Lisa Folawiyo
The runways offer up enough designs thanks to creatives like Lisa Folawiyo and when she’s off designing, she’s steady gracing our feed with meticulously styled ensembles just like this one.
Omowunmi Onalaja
This dress falls into our swoon-worthy category on this list. Brocade is such an interestingly regal fabric. Its rich finish makes for breath-taking designs just like this one.
Ejiro Amos-Tafiri
Animal prints are still enjoying their time in the limelight and this drape set by designer Ejiro Amos-Tafiri is definitely a refreshing way to wear the trend. Gotta love the print colours!
Beverly Naya
African print will always stand as a winner at every occasion. The vibrant colours and patterns are enough to keep you admired wherever you go. Beverly Naya plays with colours as she mixes and matches two prints like a pro.
Kika Osunde
With summer in full gear in most of the West, the silhouettes are getting a little relaxed and crafted. Even shirt dresses have gotten a face-lift! Good old simple dresses are still cute but form-defining structures are even better – see Kika Osunde’s outfit for more info.
Idia Aisien
Your party dress has to be metallic! At least that’s what Idia Aisien is telling us. Her saucily short 80’s inspired look is eye-watering and perfect for night outs this season.
Ola “Olarslim” Adewale
A printed maxi with a thigh-high slit? Count me in! There’s no shortage of interest with this look and it can be styled in a number of ways to make it formal or casual. Seriously, how fun?
Ini Dima-Okojie
Of all the prints, floral prints have to be among the most attractive, especially for the feminine crowd. Ini Dima-Okojie’s print dress is the type of minimalist look we all need for sunny days.
