As fans anticipate the release of a new song or album from the Grammy Award-winning singer, Made in Lagos has re-entered the Billboard World Albums chart at number 15, extending his record as the African artist with the longest charting album on the chart.
Made in Lagos tied the record for the longest-charting African album on the Billboard World Albums chart in February 2022, a record held by the Cape Verdean singer Cesária Évora. With her Grammy award-winning album, Voz d’amor, Évora spent a total of 66 weeks on the charts, peaking at number 2, which made her the only African to spend that long on the charts. But Big Wiz has now spent over 130 weeks on the chart with his latest re-entry.
3. Mariah Carey marks her return to holiday reign in a festive new video
Now that Halloween is over, Mariah Carey is ready to get the masses into the Christmas spirit. In a video shared earlier on Wednesday, November 1, the vocal powerhouse is seen encased in a block of ice as costumed individuals work to unfreeze her. The organizers of the Afro Nation Festival released a statement via social media expressing their disappointment over a unanimous decision to cancel the biggest Afrobeats festival. The cancellation has left music enthusiasts and fans around Nigeria disappointed. The reason behind this decision was that it was “currently not possible to deliver a show that is of the quality that Nigeria deserves.”
AfroNation is a renowned global festival celebrating the vibrant and dynamic Afrobeat music genre. The festival has been held in various destinations, including Portugal, Ghana, Miami, and Detriot; however, this would have been its first showcase in Nigeria.
5. Ex-Man City and Sheffield United defender Kean Bryan announces retirement from football aged just 27

Former Manchester City and Sheffield United defender, Kean Bryan has announced his retirement at the age of 27 following a string of injury problems. The English defender announced his retirement from professional football on Wednesday, November 1—his 27th birthday. Bryan made the official announcement with an Instagram post.
A Manchester City academy graduate, he joined Bury FC on loan from the Cityzens in 2016, where he made his professional debut in the English Football League. He later played for clubs like Oldham Athletic, Sheffield United, and Bolton Wanderers before joining West Brom in 2021. After making just three championship appearances for the Baggies, Bryan suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and was ruled out for close to 18 months. He left the club after his contract expired at the end of the 2022–23 season.
