4 Times Nigerian Male Celebrities Showed Us How A Fabric Belt Can Elevate Your Outfit

A fashion and pop culture writer who watches a lot…
Over the years, we’ve seen men’s fashion in Nigeria get better and better especially with celebrities, either self-styled or professionally styled. We’ve seen the fashion-forwards embrace more wild colours and experiment more with their style.
It is no news that accessories work wonders in taking a look from basic to next-level. When many think men’s fashion accessories, belts, shoes, ties, jewellery and hats come to mind, however, items like fabric belts are usually overlooked.
Fabric belts, as little as they are, pack a big punch when it comes to elevating an outfit while also slimming one’s silhouette. The great thing about styling with fabric belts is that you do not have to only style them in the traditional manner (through the belt loops on pants). Fabric belts are versatile and some of your favourite celebs and style stars know this fact. Now you’re about to witness just how versatile fabric belts are.
Check out how these 4 celebs and influencers style with fabric belt…
1. As a complementary accessory to a co-ord set

A fabric belt can serve to complement a co-ord set. It could be of a different pattern or colour from the co-ord set or a matching fabric like the Persian blue stripped set Noble Igwe is wearing here. He added the lengthy, matching fabric belt which made the outfit look more practical and attractive.
2. As part of a wrap top

In this instance, the fabric belt is used in place of buttons for a more contemporary appeal. Wrap tops usually have plunging necklines and are tied mostly on the side. Adebayo Oke-Lawal can be seen wearing a black wrap top and a pair of artsy jeans. He finished off his look with a pair of black leather boots. The belt ultimately served as the key statement maker for the whole outfit.
3. As a twist to your wedding guest attire

If your plan is to wear a blazer to a wedding, you might want to add a little twist to it with a fabric belt like Denola Grey did to this avant-garde blazer. Wearing a shimmering bronze blazer and a black shirt with mandarin collar, he used a black fabric belt to add an extra zest to the outfit.
4. As a traditional belt

By traditional belt, we mean wearing the fabric belt through the belt loops on a pair of pants. Rather than wearing regular belts, fabric belts add more of a chilled feel to an outfit. In this look, former BBNaija housemate, style influencer and businessman, Leo DaSilva wore a butterscotch co-ord set by Orange Culture with a fabric belt loosely hung around his waist. We absolutely love this look.
