Lagos Lately: See The Snazzy Looks Spotted On Nigerian Style Stars

Nigerian celebrities fashion looks

The past few weeks have been a rollercoaster of looks on Nigerian style stars that varied from carefree and fun and to elevated and classy. The stars scurried about in trendy ensembles with a certain flair that even the simplest of looks had a certain je ne sais quo about them. The sequins and shimmers were also a class act, with other embellishments tagging along for a hot sartorial ride.

As the stars “secured the bag,” they dressed in befitting outfits worthy of the occasion. The result was a slew of sharp Nigerian fashion looks that rode on individuality and leveraged long-standing fads. However, the colors were simplistic, but the silhouettes dripped in finesse—a balanced fit for a regal reference.

Check out cool Nigerian fashion looks from the past weeks…

Temi Otedola, the latest African ambassador for L’Oréal, told quite a tale of elegance. At an unveiling party in Jozi, South Africa, she was clad in a head-to-toe white Vicnate fit, elevated with an “it girl” personality. Featuring a loose-fitting sheer turtleneck top tucked into a maxi skirt with pockets and completed with bold pearl earrings, the offering screamed sass. The luxurious outfit, married with her sleek hairstyle, is a classic rich aunty move.

#2. Kim Chinonso Opara

For the minimalist girlie considering testing boundaries, this sequin and feather-embellished black Moneo dress is a worthy start. The hue and details dance to create a toned-down symphony, and the fit on Kim Oprah’s frame was like a glove in the right hands.

The blinged-out Y2K trend is a statement style that’s age-appropriate for anyone with the agenda of drawing some attention. From birthday parties to red carpet rendezvous, the glittery style is a sparkling hit. Sequins have been and will always be a relevant glamour essential.

This season, designers sent black and silver down the runway. With beguiling silhouettes, luxurious fabrics, and prints, the two make for an elegant pair. Nigerian designer Mimi Yina, popularly known as Medlin Boss, played with the hues with a dress that gave off sober elegance. She finished the conversation with an overflowing high-sheen kimono, a red clutch, and crystal-studded oversized sunnies. Trust Nigerian fashion looks to set the pace each season.

The shimmer razzle-dazzle continues. Actress Nancy Isime wore a Tolu Bally hand-beaded set to a bridal shower. Featuring a silver bralette styled with see-through sparkly pants, she injected more oomph with a blinged-out purse and dainty jewelry. The shimmer and shine trend this season is a huge turn-on, considering quiet luxury and minimalism seem to be the IT aesthetics. Yet, there’s enough room for all to thrive, and the bold blings are responding with enough presence on the fashion playground.

Season after season, wearing neutrals remains the right choice. Model Jemimah Kefas-Oyeleke knows how to go heavy on soft tones, and this beige look is further proof. Even in a season where the hues tend to take a bright approach, neutrals are the sartorial no-brainer that serves as a canvas of limitless creativity. From the wide-leg jumpsuit to the classic black purse and subtle face beat, the offering delivered fashion without trying too hard. This is the pictorial depiction of “easy does it and does it so well.”

Lastly, all-black, but make it edgy. Ex-BBNaija housemate Liquorose played it like a rock star in a texture-contrasting black ensemble. Featuring a black sleeveless top, black leather shorts, and matching ruched thigh-high boots, the reality star made “hot” a mission. While the urge to sprinkle in a different hue often comes, especially to the individual with a colorful taste. Yet, we’ve all been sucked in by the unproblematic allure of all-black getups. Take a break from the dressy, colorful options and come snazzy and ready in such a fit.
