Nia Long just scored a leading role in a new film that will tell the story of the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. It was reported that the “You People” actor will star in the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic, “Michael,” and she will portray the singer’s 93-year-old mom, Katherine Jackson. The film has also secured director Antoine Fuqua, who’s known for his work on “The Equalizer” movie franchise and the acclaimed film “Training Day.”
Last week, Colman Domingo—currently nominated for an Oscar for his work in “Rustin”—was cast in the film to play the famous family’s patriarch, Joe Jackson. Additionally, Jermaine Jackson’s son, Jaafar Jackson, will star in the film as the “Billy Jean” hitmaker. “Michael” is slated to be released in theaters on April 18.

Three years after Anele Tembe died, her family and former high school, Durban Girls’ College, have opened a library in her honor. Tembe died from injuries sustained in a fall from the 10th floor at the Pepper Club Hotel in Loop Street, Cape Town, in April 2021. The Tembe family donated to the renewal of the library in memory of their daughter. The library was designed by “old girl” Andrea Kleinloog, marking the importance of recognizing the standard of excellence at Durban Girls’ College.

In conjunction with the February 14th opening of the highly anticipated new film “Bob Marley: One Love,” an EP is also set to be released as the soundtrack to the movie. The EP presents seven essential songs composed by the revered Jamaican reggae icon, as interpreted by contemporary stars Daniel Caesar, Kacey Musgraves, Wizkid, Leon Bridges, Jessie Reyez, Bloody Civilian, and Skip Marley, grandson of the legend.
The Marley family had a hand in choosing and approving all selections for the EP, with five of the songs selected from Bob Marley and The Wailer’s iconic 1977 album “Exodus,” which has been declared RIAA gold.

Georgina Rodriguez has shown off the dazzling watch that her long-term partner Cristiano Ronaldo gifted her for her 30th birthday. The Argentine-born model recently celebrated her 30th with an idyllic trip to the Maldives and took to social media to thank friends and family for gifts. Her pink-strapped timepiece was displayed alongside a tag to New York City-based Jacob & Co., a jeweler popular with rappers and US sports stars, referenced as far back as 1999 in Jay-Z’s single “Girl’s Best Friend.”
While their items are bespoke, reports suggest Ronaldo is unlikely to have gotten much change out of $100,000 for the gift. “Gracias, mi amor,” posted Rodriguez on her Instagram story with a picture of the diamond-encrusted watch.
