This landmark achievement, announced by the Academy in its 2023 member intake, further cements Nollywood’s place on the global stage and acknowledges the exceptional contributions these individuals have made to the film industry, not just in Nigeria, but worldwide.
The inclusion of these four Nollywood figures in the Academy is a significant milestone for the Nigerian film industry. It not only validates the progress Nollywood has made but also puts it firmly on the international map. Actress and DJ Thuli Phongolo broke her social media hiatus by posting a headshot of herself and immediately her glow made her followers think there was a bun in the oven. The DJ had deleted all her posts on Instagram and this snap is the only one currently on her page. “Somebody’s gonna save you one day … and that person happens to be yourself,” she captioned the snap.
After seeing her mentions flooded with speculation about her being pregnant because of her glow, she responded: “I think my edges are making me look pregnant guys but don’t worry I’m firing the whole team for this mess-up cause I told them! 4. Jada Pinkett-Smith announces the release of her memoir “Worthy”
Jada Pinkett-Smith is inviting fans into her world with an upcoming book. After wowing audiences with her one-of-a-kind acting ability through television and film, Smith is ready to give viewers a different experience. On Thursday, June 29, the Baltimore native announced that her new memoir “Worthy” will be released this fall. “On Oct. 17, I invite you into a journey that, understandably, many think they already know,” she wrote on Instagram. “The fact that I have, in the last four years, contributed to the creation and perpetuation of falsehoods about myself, in which other untrue narratives were birthed, has surely aided in the misunderstandings that surround me. This fall, with deep humility and respect, I will take back my narrative. My memoir starts at the beginning, offering an unvarnished and revealing account from my challenging upbringing in Baltimore into a controversial life in Hollywood. It’s a harrowing ride of reclaiming my self-worth while unraveling unspoken truths.”
Smith also shared that the book will cover other parts of her life. “My adventures of my youth, meaningful friendships, marriage, motherhood, self-betrayal, and self-reclamation are mere reflections of the adventures so many of us have taken in search of happiness,” she told fans. “My hope is that through the exploration of my tumultuous situations to the rediscovery of deep love, we are all reminded that no matter where we may be on our journey, we are all… ‘Worthy.’ Reserve your copy now. Manchester United have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Mason Mount for an overall fee of £60 million ($76m). United and Chelsea have finally come to an agreement over a deal for Mount. United had a bid of £55m ($69m) rejected earlier this week but have now agreed to pay £55m plus £5m ($6m) in add-ons. United will only end up paying the full extra £5m in the event Mount wins the Premier League title or Champions League multiple times.
United and Chelsea have been locked in negotiations throughout the summer window, with United tabling no fewer than three bids for the England international. It now appears that the saga is finally edging towards a conclusion.
