Impeccable tailoring, a touch of soft feminine accents and luxury fabrics are some of the obvious characteristics of the womenswear brand, Self-Portrait. The contemporary fashion house, based in London, isn’t just one of the most loved designers of the moment for nothing. Owned by Malaysian-born designer Han Chong, the brand has consistently produced uber chic designs since entering the fashion scene in 2013.
With all these great characteristics, it is easy to see why Nigerian media personality, Toke Makinwa is so much in love with what the brand has to offer. With outfits that come in lacey fabrics, complete with sheer overlays and intricate embroidery, Self-Portrait has been the go-to clothing store for Toke this year.
The fashion lover truly found a home in Han Chong’s creations as she chose to wear a plunging satin handkerchief midi dress that originally retailed for $480 on her birthday in November. Her loyalty to the brand has gotten some wondering if Toke is an ambassador for the brand and explains why she’s earned the nickname, Ms Self-Portrait.
