The year 2020 is almost over and even though it was not a year we anticipated, the happenings of the year have helped us grow and shaped our lives in different ways. 2021 is right around the corner and there’s an exciting mixture of blockbusters and prestige awards movies to be released which are making us that much more eager to welcome the new year.

The coronavirus pandemic halted the release and production of most films throughout 2020 and streaming services like Amazon and Hulu and Netflix provided most of the entertainment. However, we can look ahead to 2021 as the year in entertainment that could be as there would be a surge of big titles coming back to the theaters. With releases from James Bond, Marvel’s Black Widow, Fast and Furious 9, The Conjuring, and more—2021 could be a massive year in movies.

We ask that you keep your masks on, and fingers crossed with the hope that the cinemas will be fully opened once again.

Here are some of the movies we are looking forward to in 2021…

#1. No Time To Die – April 2nd, 2021

This will be the last time we see Daniel Craig as James Bond. The 25th Bond installment features Lashana Lynch as 007 and a Billie Eilish-voiced theme song. From the trailer, it promises to be an explosive end to Daniel Craig’s incredible tenure as Bond.

#2. Black Widow – May 1, 2021

Even though we lost the Black Widow in Avengers: Endgame, this movie will be about Natasha Romanoff’s return home after the events of Captain America: Civil War. She will have to deal with the familial fallout she left behind.

#3. Fast & Furious 9 – May 28, 2021

Han is back! I repeat, Han is back! They would have to explain this one to us though! If you are a fan, you will remember that Han was killed by Deckard Shaw in Fast and Furious 6. Well… the chase continues and we sure can’t wait to see how Dom and his brother settle their squabbles.

#4. The Conjuring 3 – June 4, 2021 Movies.

For horror movie lovers, this series is inspired by two real-life paranormal investigators. They are invited to investigate things when a murder suspect claims “the devil made me do it” after committing the crime.

#5. Top Gun: Maverick – July 2, 2021

34 years later, Tom Cruise is back in the Top Gun sequel. The film will reportedly focus on the end of the dogfighting era and the role of drones in modern aerial warfare. And as always, Maverick is confident as ever, testing the limits of physics and authority.

#6. The Suicide Squad 2 – August 6, 2021

The cast in this sequel features Idris Elba with some of the previous cast coming back. However, we will be missing Will Smith but definitely looking forward to seeing Viola Davis once again. 2021 movies.

#7. Fantastic Beasts 3 – November 12, 2021

Sadly, Johnny Depp is not returning in this third installment but Jude Law will be playing young Professor Dumbledore. I am sure Harry Potter fans can’t wait to see what Dumbledore was like as a young man.

#8. Mission Impossible 7 – November 19, 2021

Tom Cruise is back as Ethan Hunt with all the crazy stunts. As always, Tom does his own stunts without the aid of a stunt double. Originally planned for a summer release, the pandemic caused a push back in the release date.
