idetush Bespoke has clothed hundreds of wedding clients, both locally and internationally, with the brand’s creations having been featured in national publications, style magazines, and lifestyle blogs. The brand offers a wide range of grooms wear, including two and three-piece suits, safari suits, tuxedos, waistcoats, dress shoes, neck ties, cummerbunds, boutonnières, pocket squares and more.
Showcasing its 2023 wedding clientele catalogue during a workshop session at the Ibadan Fashion and Lifestyle Expo, the Creative Director of fast-rising Nigerian fashion brand Midetush Bespoke, Olumide Oyewunmi, spoke extensively about the art of wedding styling.
He mentioned, “Wedding clothing allows a bride and groom to express themselves on their big day. From wedding dresses, suits, bridal and groom’s train outfits, and many more, finding the right clothing could be a difficult task.”
This is especially true for grooms who tend to take the backseat to their brides on their special day. Perhaps, this results from the general consensus that the wedding day is the “bride’s” day. But as men become more fashion-focused and unafraid to contest with the girls for the fashion spotlight (ahem!) on that special day, the question that arises for husbands-to-be is how to pick a befitting attire. Speaking on this challenge, Oyewunmi adds: Midetush Bespoke Wedding
“One of the major factors taken into consideration to curate a wedding outlook for the groom is having an idea of the venue—a hall room, beach resort, garden, or religious institution–and also curating a wedding outlook by time of the day; evening or daytime. No matter how low-key a wedding may be, showing respect for the sanctity of the union and the purpose of the celebration is of utmost importance.”
Cultural pieces are also well-represented in the brand’s collections, such as the traditional attire of the Yoruba men of West Africa, popularly known as “Agbada,” made from hand-woven fabric, the Igbo men’s “Isi Agu” (similar to African Dashiki), alongside other tribal clothing. Midetush Bespoke is committed to producing high-quality outfits for grooms for their special day, and to maintain a leading role in showcasing Nigeria’s vibrant fashion industry to the world.
