What is better than one melanin dripping model? Two! Egyptian-born American fashion model of Sudanese descent Anok Yai and South Sudanese-Australian model Duckie Thot have put spring to flight with their melanin dripping glam editorial ‘Spring Takes Flight’ in V Magazine’s latest issue.
For the edit which had an old Hollywood/’60s glam direction for both the hair and outfits, Anok Yai and Duckie Thot were styled by Nicola Formichetti while their makeup was done by Diane Kendal and hair was styled by Yusef Williams. Mario Testino was behind the lens to capture all the beauty the set could hold.
That’s one massive Afro the African beauties have got there. I live for sequin pieces and massive Afros and this editorial just makes me all the happier. You’ll agree that Nicola Formichetti and the rest of the creative team did absolute fantastic justice to their looks!
