This is a CEO Merit Award that recognizes Black music creators “whose dedication to the art form has greatly influenced the industry and whose legacy of service inspires countless individuals worldwide, celebrating those who, through leadership and passion, empower others to embrace their authentic selves and contribute to positive change.” Harvey Mason Jr. has been the Academy’s CEO since May 2021, after serving as interim CEO for about a year.
Mariah Carey has won five Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist in 1991 and Best Female Vocal Performance, throughout her career, in both pop (for “Vision of Love”) and R&B (for “We Belong Together”). It was Covid, I had just released my previous full-length album, ‘Monarch’ and it had performed extremely well. I got back to the drawing board, and I started with a lot of tracking,” shared the singer.

Lewis Hamilton will leave Mercedes and join Ferrari for the 2025 Formula 1 season. Hamilton’s current contract with Mercedes is due to expire at the end of 2025, but he will depart the team after this season and replace Carlos Sainz at Ferrari. Mercedes employees in Brackley were informed of the news earlier this week before an official announcement from the team.
