Although she’s gone to some of the best schools around the globe capping it with a Master’s degree from New York University, Florence Ifeoluwa Otedola better known as DJ cuppy was born to be a star. And true to star quality, the Lagos-born DJ and musician has mastered how to strike a striking balance between her love for music and fashion. Since she is in a male dominated industry, one would expect that she would navigate towards androgynous wardrobe choices, but the ‘Green Light‘ crooner does quite the opposite. Rather than act and dress tough to be considered a bonafide DJ, she shows her strength with her skillset whilst maintaining her preference for the ultra-feminine kind of fashion. And isn’t that what true strength is all about, anyway?
Like many women, her personality and style are in unison; you could say that Cuppy’s style is playful, chic, fun and very modern; very much that of the “cosmopolitan woman.” Having lived in some of the biggest and most cosmopolitan cities in the world including Lagos, London and New York, Cuppy is the quintessential cosmopolite.
The great thing about Cuppy’s style is that it consist of pieces that are easy to find and thus, easy to remake. If that isn’t good news for her fans, what else could be?
