1. Lizzo sued for sexual harassment by former backup dancers

On Tuesday, three former backup dancers for Lizzo sued the singer. The defendants filed a complaint in a Los Angeles court, as reported. In the complaint, Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez allege they were exposed to a “sexually charged and uncomfortable” work environment and that harassment was “so severe or pervasive” that it made their employment conditions “intolerable.” The plaintiffs are seeking unspecified damages for unpaid wages and loss of earnings, and compensation for emotional distress. Named in the complaint are reps for Lizzo and her production company Big Grrrl Big Touring, and a dance captain for the singer named Shirlene Quigley.

The complaint describes a moment when Lizzo inappropriately reacted to the weight gain of one of the plaintiffs, along with cursing and yelling at performers. The suit also recounts an incident in Amsterdam when the Grammy winner coerced Davis to touch the breast of a nude performer. In another allegation, Williams claimed she confronted Lizzo and was fired in a public setting by one of the singer’s agents about a week later. On the other hand, Davis alleged she was let go after she recorded a meeting with the star so she could review it for feedback purposes. According to the complaint, that moment led Rodriguez to resign.

While Blxckie hasn’t been releasing new music as frequently as he did in 2021 and 2022, the award-winning rapper seems to be positioning himself for an international blow up. The 23-year-old has been in between Johannesburg and Los Angeles over the past few months, working with various international artists and producers ahead of the release of his eagerly-anticipated upcoming project.

The latest artist the “Kwenzekile” star has been pictured with in studio is none other than the Grammy-nominated US rap superstar Wale. Blxckie shared a few images and video of the two working on new music in a studio in Los Angeles over the weekend. Wale is no stranger to working with South African rappers.

4. Tiger Woods named as newest member of PGA Tour board

In response to claims of the PGA Tour’s lack of transparency since the announcement of its merger with the Saudi Arabia-backed LIV Golf, the organization named Tiger Woods as its newest board member. An agreement was reached after Woods and more than three dozen of the tour’s players penned a letter on Monday to Jay Monahan, PGA Tour Commissioner demanding more say in how the business of the tour is conducted in the future.

On Tuesday, the PGA consented to the requests of the players and noted that the Tour remains “for the players, by the players, and gives the players an upper hand when it comes to partnering with LIV Golf.” Along with Woods, the new board will be made up of five other player directors, Patrick Cantlay, Charley Hoffman, Peter Malnati, Rory McIlroy, and Webb Simpson, five Independent directors, and the PGA of America Director. In a statement, Woods expressed willingness to serve in a new capacity to ensure that the PGA will continue to thrive in the future.

5. Legendary former Juventus & Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon confirms retirement from football at 45

At the grand age of 45, iconic former Juventus and Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has announced his retirement from football. Following two seasons playing between the sticks for Parma, the hometown club where his career initially started in 1995-96, Buffon has finally drawn the curtain on an incredible career that has spanned almost three decades. He’s won numerous trophies including the World Cup, ten Serie A titles and a Ligue 1 crown, as well as receiving various individual accolades — most notably landing an incredible 13 Serie A Goalkeeper of the Year awards.
